Prologis, the global leader in industrial real estate and joint venture partner Wittington Investments (Developments) Limited today announced that they are starting infrastructure work at Prologis Park Fradley at Lichfield in the West Midlands. The development has the potential to bring over 1,000 jobs to the local area.
Located beside the established industrial area of Fradley Park, the new 44.77 acre development has planning permission for a total of 890,000 square foot in buildings ranging from 111,405 to 687,987. In line with Prologis’ approach to sustainable development, each unit will be designed and constructed to achieve a minimum BREEAM ‘very good’ accreditation and the best EPC rating possible for its size.
Next to the A38 north of Lichfield, Prologis Park Fradley is close to the M42, M6, M6 Toll and M1 motorways and within easy reach of both East Midlands and Birmingham International Airports as well as rail freight terminals at Hams Hall National Distribution Park and Birmingham International Freight terminal.
“We focus on providing the best opportunities in the market for our customers, so we are delighted that work is starting at Prologis Park Fradley,” said Andrew Griffiths, managing director of Prologis UK. “There are very few industrial sites with planning permission in the West Midlands, so we are already seeing a high level of interest in the new park from companies, each of which could bring hundreds of new jobs to the area.”
JLL, Harris Lamb and Savills are acting for Prologis and Wittington.
Prologis owns and manages approximately 25 million square feet of logistics and distribution space in the U.K. as of December 31, 2015.
