PD Ports is one of the UK’s major port groups with a reputation for excellence gained from decades of experience and a highly skilled workforce. Employing over 1,200 people, we are headquartered in the north of England and operate from locations across the UK.
PD Ports owns and operates the Port of Tees and Hartlepool (Teesport) which has the capability and skills to import and export various types of cargo including containers and bulk cargo. Teesport is the largest container port on the East coast North of Felixstowe and the UK’s best-connected feeder port. It has excellent transport links and lock-free access to the North Sea.
Teesport Intermodal Rail Terminal, constructed in 2014, allows customers to move cargo further with frequent and cost effective rail links direct from Teesport to UK locations. The rail terminal has regular connections to Felixstowe and Southampton as well as Mossend and Grangemouth in Scotland. Further connections are expected with the Midlands and North West in line with market demand.
PD Ports has a proven track record of delivering results for many of the UK's top brands and offer the benefit of nationwide port located importation and distribution centres, backed by operational excellence and vast infrastructure. We are a national leader in portcentric logistics developing strong relationships with customers including Asda, Argos, Barker and Stonehouse, Hitachi and Taylors of Harrogate. Our portcentric customers enjoy savings of over 8M road miles each year and over £15M in cost savings whilst still ensuring the volume comes through the North East to serve Northern UK markets.
In February, PD Ports beat off tough competition to take the title of Transport and Logistics Company of the Year in the Northern Lights Awards.
PD Ports also operates at a number of locations across the Humber Estuary and River Trent including Groveport, Howden, Immingham, Keadby and Scunthorpe as well as the Isle of Wight and Felixstowe.
