Sheldon Clayton Logistics has announced strategic partnership with A Perry (Hinges) Ltd, one of the UK’s largest manufacturers and suppliers of ironmongery products.
The two Black Country based companies signed a three year contract formalising the ongoing relationship between the two family-run companies who employ some 180 staff between them.
Sheldon Clayton Logistics have built their success on three decades of hard work and experience to offer their customers services within all aspects of the supply chain. From their West Bromwich depot the company run services from UK and European distribution to pallet storage and e-fulfilment, turning over millions of pounds each year.
Sheldon Clayton Logistics provides daily collections from A Perry’s 50,000 sq. ft. depot in Cradley Heath to the ironmonger’s ever-growing customers in the UK, Ireland and across Europe.

A Perry manufactures and supplies traditional hardware including chain, hinges, door and window furniture, threaded bar and fencing hardware. It supplies independent merchant, construction and agriculture markets.

Celebrating 90 years of trading this year, A Perry & Co (Hinges) Ltd started out in the 1920s when Arthur Perry asked his son Ernie to help him manufacture a selection of hinges and gutter brackets. The business started at a workshop at their home in Lawrence Lane in Old Hill and have been situated in their current base in Doulton Road, Cradley Heath since 1953. The business occupies over 50,000 square feet of manufacturing and warehousing space with over 85 staff. It is still family-owned.

Separately, Sheldon Clayton Logistics has announced a new range of services to add to their ever growing range of multimodal solutions. This autumn the West Bromwich based company have announced new road freight solutions to destinations across Europe.
This new development was made possible thanks to reciprocal partnerships with international logistics companies. Commencing this month the services will run direct to many countries across the continent including Scandinavia, Mainland and Eastern Europe.

The new services are an extensive expansion on the Midlands based companies existing services. Currently Sheldon Clayton Logistics provide transport throughout the UK, Ireland and Offshore Islands as well as pallet storage across their 14 acre site. These new services are operated direct from Sheldon Clayton Logistics depot, in The Black Country with any groupage booked before midday collected within a 35 mile radius that same day, for shipping on an international trailer that night.

Sheldon Clayton Logistics have also recently been named in Sandwell Council’s Fastest Growing Companies index 2015, with the launch of the European services set to contribute to the continued increase over 2016.
