As of 1st March 2015, Skye Transport (Crossal) Ltd will be purchased by Ferguson Transport (Spean Bridge) Ltd and merged with the Ferguson Transport group of companies trading as Ferguson Transport & Shipping.
Ferguson Transport & Shipping is a family business with similar values to Skye Transport and will continue to provide the same excellent service provided to date by Skye Transport.

Ferguson Transport & Shipping is one of the largest independent transport and distribution companies in the Highlands. It is still very much a family business, with 12 family members of staff, including six members within the third generation.
It operates a fleet of over 70+ modern commercial vehicles and over 150 trailers of various specifications distributing a wide range of general goods including forestry and aquaculture products.
Ferguson Transport & Shipping have over 180 invaluable staff members, of which approximately 80 are drivers and 30 are marine staff. Staff numbers have over doubled in the last two years, and as a result Ferguson Transport & Shipping has expanded its head office space at Annat in Corpach to accommodate the encouraging growth of the company.
Ferguson Transport & Shipping deliver to anywhere in the UK and also provide a rail distribution swap body service. Their main base is at Corpach, although they also operate from the company’s own port and warehousing facilities at Kishorn and as well as work out of Mallaig. The shipping sector of the business works its six vessels primarily on the west coast of Scotland including the Western and Northern Isles as well as Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Their other road operating centres include: Isle of Skye, Invergordon, Inverness, Grangemouth, Glasgow and Penrith.
